Yesterday we experienced our first typhoon while living in Japan. Little Man's school ended early so the kids could be home before the storm arrived. The center of Typhoon Roke hit about 150 miles from Tokyo, but we had plenty of wind and rain here. The wind was so powerful it made our building sway. It was enough to make us dizzy! By the time we went to bed, all was calm again.
Umbrellas are pretty useless during
a typhoon. On our short walk to
school this morning, we counted
11 umbrellas laying on the sidewalk!!
